Bertha Grace Shadley, 92, of Terre Haute passed away March 15, 2014 in her home with her family by her side.
Bertha loved her home, family and friends. She read the bible daily. She enjoyed working in her yard and garden. She gave the best hugs ever.
She was born May 29, 1921 in Terre Haute to William R. Huckaba and Elizabeth Redmon Huckaba.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Earl Shadley. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Bessie Christopher, Reba Handy and Edna Hayne; niece, Louise Fisk; great nephew, Terry Fisk; and companion Keith Goodman.
Bertha is survived by her nephew, William R. Hayne and his companion, Libby Harding of Terre Haute; her niece, Barbara L. Chalfant of Terre Haute; great nieces, Nell Drinkard of Virginia, Carol Ann Redington and her husband, Bill, Penny Waters and Tammy Fisk, Debra Brenton, Cathy Weaver, Kim Slaven and her husband, Paul, Amanda Hope Hayne of Avon, Indiana; great nephews, Scott Hayne and his companion, April May of Terre Haute and Jeffrey Hayne and his wife, Kristy of Harvest, Alabama; several great great nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog “Blackie”, who was at her side at her passing.
