Bertha Fawcett, a recent resident of LifeQuest Nursing Center in Quakertown died peacefully on Monday, Dec. 7 at the age of 91. Formerly of Sellersville, she was the wife of Edward Fawcett for 53 years. She was a daughter of the late Dominick and Kunigunda Pocius, and was of Lithuanian heritage. In 1935 she graduated from the Brooklyn Industrial High School for Girls completing a 2 year dress making course. She had a great passion for sewing and was highly skilled in dressmaking and tailoring. She used these skills in her employment at the former R & R and David Chrystal. She made samples for the Lady Bug line of women’s clothing. She fashioned all of her own clothing and her family and friends were fortunate recipients of many beautiful articles of clothing that she lovingly made. She often accompanied her husband Edward as he pursued his great passion of train photography. She loved butterflies and enjoyed watching deer as they stood in the yard. She is survived by her husband Edward, also a resident of LifeQuest, step-son Robert Fawcett and his wife Linda of Quakertown, brother Edward Pocius and his wife Katherine of Pennsburg and sister Ruth Talacki and husband Pete of Huntingdon Valley. Also nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Anna, Sophie, and brother John.
