LAKELAND – Berta Louise Mulford Newman Golden, age 90, a lifetime resident of Lakeland, FL, died Tuesday, July 28th, 2015, at Oakbridge Healthcare due to complications from pneumonia. Berta was born on March 24th, 1925, and was the daughter of Oscar and Roberta Mulford, who precedes her in death. She is survived by her children Donald ‘Donnie’ and Judy Newman, Roberta ‘Jean’ Rayborn, Virginia ‘Tadpole’ and Steve Moore, James ‘Jimmie’ and Linda Newman, Robert ‘Bobby’ and Donna Newman, William ‘Deen’ and Debbie Newman, Edward ‘Ed-die’ Newman, Allan and Evelyn Newman, Lynnette Bielen, and brother William ‘Uncle W’ Mulford. Berta is preceded in death by her husband James Golden, her 1st husband Donald Newman, the father of all her children, eldest daughter Mary O’berry, brother Chester Mulford, brother Eustace ‘Uncle Buddy’ Mulford, sister Dicey Hayes, and son-in-law Ronald ‘Joe’ Rayborn. Berta is survived by 31 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 18 great great grandchildren. Berta worked for Lakeland Regional Medical Center for 25 years in Central Supply before retiring.
