Those left to honor Berneice’s memory include her two sons, Kenneth (and Marilyn) Doty of Mingo, Iowa; Danny (and Maureen) Doty of Newton; sixteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and eighteen great-great-grandchildren; her brother, William (and Martha) Littlejohn of Minnesota; and her sister, Dorothy Kendall of Ottumwa, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mellville Blaine and Iona (Garrett) Littlejohn; husband, Albert in 1972; two daughters, Donna Miller and Marlene Hefley; brother, Lawrence Littlejohn; and two sisters, Alma Langford and Inez Thomblin.
Dorothy was a graduate of Ottumwa High School in Ottumwa, Iowa. She had worked as a Sales Clerk and Waitress, having worked at Pearson Drug and the Terrace Inn and several other restaurants.
Dorothy has lived in Newton since 1942.
