Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Jackson; mother, Rose Lee Brown; and sister, Shirley Carr.
She leaves to cherish loving memories, two daughters, Laverne Gainer and Carolyn L. Johnson; grandchildren, Edward Sampson III, Lisa Sampson (her caregiver), Shanita Hayes, Jolanda Julius, Laretha Smith, Dionne Hayes; 20 great grandchildren; two sisters, Orie Brown and Gloria Brown; host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In life she had many beloved friends, too many to mention by name.
