Berger H. Swanson, 91, of College Street, South Bend, IN, passed away at 12:10am Saturday, July 9, 2005 at Buchanan Meadows Living Center in Buchanan, MI.
He was born on August 17, 1913 to the late John and Matilda (Anderson) Swanson in Varmland, Sweden, and has lived in South Bend since 1938, coming from Chicago, IL.
Along with his parents; two brothers, Bror and Harold Swanson also preceded him in death.
Mr. Swanson retired in 1975 from the Bendix Corporation, as an inspector in the Aerospace Division, after 43 years.
On July 7, 1945, he married Cecelia A. Smiechowski at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. She survives.
Along with his loving wife of 60 years, he is survived by one daughter, Ann Marie (Fred) Dean of Granger, IN; one son, Kenneth J. Swanson of South Bend, IN; and one granddaughter, Emily Dean of Indianapolis, IN.
