In Loving Memory . . . Bentley Lee Marshall, Jr. was born to Bentley Lee Marshall, Sr. and Notye Nowlin in Nashville, TN on December 17, 1928, the fourth of five children. Bentley is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Olive (Livingston) Vaughn, Geraldine (James) Atkins, and Sandra (Lester) Craig, and one brother, Travis (Imogene) Marshall. Bentley grew up in Nashville, TN, was educated in the Davidson County Public Schools system, and graduated from Pearl Senior High School. Bentley also attended Tennessee State Normal and Agriculture College, later known as Tennessee State University, prior to enlisting in the U. S. Navy.
