Bennie Alton Davis of Boles, Arkansas passed from this life on November 4, 2016. Bennie was born in Blackfork, Arkansas on July 25, 1935 to his parents Charlie and Lillian (Campbell) Davis.

From his humble beginnings in a small Blackfork cabin, Bennie never imagined he would travel so far from home. At the age of 19, Bennie left Arkansas to enlist in the U.S. Navy for four years, working as an aviation machinist, and completing a tour in Okinawa, Japan. Bennie was then assigned to a Navy Reserve Unit out of Corpus Christi, Texas. One month after his return home in 1959, he married his sweetheart, “Ro” and they made their home in Boles, Arkansas. Bennie and Roberta lived in several houses, but they never ventured far from their Boles home, finally settling on Buffalo Road in Needmore, Arkansas in 1969. Bennie retired from Mersman-Waldron Furniture after 29 years of working as an upholsterer.

Bennie enjoyed hunting, riding his 4-wheeler and just being outdoors. He had a great love for animals, however; his greatest love was for his family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Addie “Roberta” Davis, two sons: Russell Davis, and Rick Davis and wife Linda of Needmore, Arkansas and grandchildren Trista Davis and husband Clay of Waldron, Arkansas and Ryan Davis and Erica Davis of Needmore, Arkansas. He is also survived by one brother, Leonard Davis of Foreman, Arkansas and two sisters, Marie Hill and husband Charles of Garland, Texas and Erma Lynn and husband James of Mena, Arkansas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bennie will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives he impacted.

Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Lillian Davis, and two sisters: Charlene Harris and Eloise Stobaugh.
