Benjamin Franklin Crotts, Jr. passed away peacefully on June 21, 2022 at 93 years of age. Ben loved his late wife, Eunice, of 73 years, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He never forgot he was the son of a farmer and enjoyed nature, gardening, and storytelling. Ben was an active charter member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and was honored by the church with the Heritage Award for his many years of service. He taught Bible studies, an adult Sunday School class, and was a lay speaker for the Eastern and Western N. C. Conferences. He took pride in working for Western Electric for 38 years and returning to work for AT&T for a few more years.
He is survived by a son, Joey Crotts (Deborah), and 3 daughters, Brenda McAdams (Jimmy), Gwen Cole (Larry), and Sharon Arnold (Randy). He has 5 grandchildren, Jim McAdams, Nathan McAdams, Jeremy Cole, Brittney Lambert, and Jonathan Crotts; 7 great-grandchildren, Chase, Kenna, Brantley, Jameson, Sam, Jacen, and Elizabeth. His late parents were Benjamin Franklin Crotts and Virginia Lucinda Miller Crotts. He was predeceased by his brother, Bobby Crotts, and sister, Lucille Summey. Also surviving is his sister, Rosa Lee Garren.
