Benjamin “Ben” Hugh Dorsey III, 59, of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at the Center for Hospice in Elkhart. He was born on March 30, 1959 in Frostburg, Maryland to the late Benjamin Hugh Dorsey Jr. and Donna Jean (Carr) Dorsey of Patterson Creek, WV.

Ben is survived by his loving wife, Kim Relyea, whom he married on October 9, 1982. He is also survived by his two sons, Benjamin Hunter (Nik) Dorsey of Provo, UT, and Race Harrison (Ren Hall) Dorsey of Indianapolis, IN; 6 month old grandson, Leo Leviticus Dorsey; siblings, Donna Hortin of Salt Lake City, UT, Steven Dorsey (Rachel Dorsey) of Manassas, VA, Raven Storm of Salt Lake City, UT, Thanh Dorsey of Defiance, OH, Victoria Lacy-Talbot (Marvin Talbot) of Markleville, IN, and Katherine Dorsey of Los Angeles, CA; along with many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Ben was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many positions of leadership in the Church throughout his life, including serving as a Bishop for a local Elkhart congregation. He served a proselyting mission for the Church in Italy from 1980-1982. Most recently, he was serving as a Sunday School teacher.

Ben was born in Frostburg, MD, on March 30, 1959. He lived in Cumberland, MD, for the first six years of his childhood, and spent the remaining years of his childhood and youth in northwest Ohio. He graduated from Fairview High School in Sherwood, OH, in 1977, and from the University of Toledo in 1983. His career in Marketing and Communications spans over three decades, and most recently he was serving as a Special Projects Director for Special-Lite in Decatur, MI.

Ben was an avid cyclist and motorcycle rider, and enjoyed creative and technical writing, and loved public speaking.
