Belva Jean Brown, 78, of Emmett, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at her home in Emmett. Belva was born on December 7, 1933 in Cottage Grove, Oregon to Cecil and Juanita Geer. Belva grew up and graduated from Prineville Oregon High School.
She settled in Emmett, Idaho in 1978 with her husband Norm Brown. She spent the rest of her life raising horses, and working with her husband on their small ranch. Belva also worked and retired from The Sundry Centers for Albertsons. She loved animals of all kinds especially her horses, they were her pride and joy. She would sometimes spend nights sleeping with the newborn colts. Belva was a friend to all.
She is survived by her son, Bob and Shannon Shepard of Emmett; her daughter, Carol Ann Shepard of Seneca, OR; brother and sister-in-Law Don and Vesta Geer; nephew Joe Geer; step-daughters, Cheryl Hendrix and Judy Hall; grandchildren, Valerie and Crystal; step-grandchildren, Matthew, Jacqie, and Stacey, and several great-grandchildren.
Belva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, aunt and uncle, Robert and Myrtle Geer, and nephew Ronnie Geer.
