Belinda Elores (Tubbs) Ellis was the daughter of the late Leon Tubbs, Sr. and Mary Puckett Tubbs. She was born on June 7,1954 and entered eternal rest on January 26, 2022. She was preceded in death by her brothers Leon Tubbs, Jr., Anthony Tubbs and Vincent Tyler.

Belinda moved to Indianapolis, IN at the age of six (6) years old with her mother and her six (6) siblings where she grew up.  Belinda professed her faith and life to Christ at the age of nine (9) years old.

Belinda attended Arsenal Technical High School.  She earned her GED later in life.  She returned to school earning her Associates Degree from Ball State University where she was on the Dean’s List. She later earned degrees in Sex and Drug Counseling and Business from Stratford Career Institute and Oakland City University respectively.

Belinda was a professional clown receiving her certification through the Smiles Unlimited Universal Clown Ministry-Heart Charmers Chapter earning “Clown of the Year” honors under the name “Peg of My Heart”.

Belinda gave many motivational speeches for various organizations including Bridge to Home and Dress for Success- programs that supported women re-entering society from prison in order to teach them the necessary tools and prevent them from going back into the system. Her volunteering efforts were borne out of her desire to help others, from family to strangers.

Belinda had a special love for her family and friends- she enjoyed seeing the smiles on their faces at cookouts and holidays.  She always stressed that family should be together and love one another.

When Belinda spoke of her children and grandchildren, she would have the biggest smile. She always said that her children were her world and her biggest support system.

Belinda leaves to cherish and commemorate her memory and will forever be in the hearts of her sons Damon and Derrick and daughter Dana.  She also leaves ten (10) grandchildren: DaJaneeTaylor, Derrick Ellis, Jr., Brendon Ellis, Damon Smith, Brandon Ellis, Danaye Ellis, Derriana Ellis, Derrien Ellis, Lourdes Ellis, London Ellis; great granddaughter DaMyah Strickling.

Special love and thanks to Carmen Jones, Michelle Lamb, Deborah Moss- who have been true friends and sisters.  Her special daughter Kaleena Weatherly. Special cousins, Dr. Jeanette D. Towns, Brigitte Mills and a host of other cousins. Special thanks to her cousin Belinda Jordan- who was always there for the family. Very special thanks to Dr. Jacqualyn F. Green- who showed her the way to embrace her life by motivating her to receive more education and writing, but most of all how to love herself.
