Beatrice K. Rankin, 81, of Newington, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep, on Sunday, September 14, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Bertrand A. Rankin for 52 years. Bea was a resident of Newington for the last 44 years and had strong faith in Christ. She was a “Church Mom”, member and Deaconess of the Mill Pond Church in Newington. Beatrice was employed as an accountant for Appleton & Appleton. Affectionately known as “Bocky,” she enjoyed traveling and dearly loved her cat, Buddy. Left to mourn her passing are her children: William S. Rankin, II and his wife, Barbara of Canton and Beatrice R. Arzt and her husband, David of Hebron. She also leaves her grandchildren: Megan, Seth, Theodore, Kathy and Katie Arzt; Matthew, Heather, Christopher and Emily Rankin and ; her great-granddaughter, Lily Arzt. She was predeceased by her sisters: Genevieve Godbout and Betty Barbier.
