Baxter Drake Primus, born June 19th, 1997, died unexpectedly February 28, 2021, as a result of an accidental overdose of alcohol and painkillers. Baxter was a loving little kid, with his own way of doing things. He excelled at all things academic. He attended Denver Public Schools for elementary and middle school. His high school experience included four months in a wilderness program in Utah, and graduation one year early from Accelerated Schools of Denver. Baxter had a goal of becoming a welder and completed a seven-month certification program at Tulsa Welding School. He graduated with distinction. In late Spring 2018, he was hired as a welder at SteelCo, which became his second family. Baxter loved to experience the outdoors – the rougher the better. Throughout his life he was friendly to all he met and treated others with empathy and respect. He is survived by his parents, Chris Primus and Lisa Schmidt, brother Quincy, sisters Miriam and Lily, grandparents Robert and Constance Primus, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and a wide circle of friends. Our profound love for Baxter will never end.
