Mr. Barry L. Helton, 52, of Valley, Alabama went home to be with his Lord on July 12, 2016, after a long period of illness.
Barry was born on August 6, 1963 in Monroe, Georgia.
He was a member of the Church of the Highlands – Auburn Campus.
He is survived by his children, Avin Helton (Anthony Van Houten), Laura Helton ( Derek Stevens), Jacob Helton (Jennifer Popphan), Kristin Hardy (Daniel Hardy); grandchildren, Piper and Trenton Hardy; best friend, Wanda Hunt.
Barry attended Lanett High School and participated on numerous athletic teams. He went on to enroll at Southern Union Community College, following his passion for electricity and mechanics. He was an avid University of Georgia Bulldogs fan and a New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed watching Game of Thrones.
He loved the old western movies and John Wayne. He spent a lot of time listening to music, but loved classic rock in particular.
What meant most to Barry was raising his children, working hard, and his relationship with Jesus Christ.
