Barry J. Howard, 59, of Newington, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, several days after surgery at Hartford Hospital. Born in Bridgeport, on April 16, 1955, son of the late James and Janet (Henry) Howard, he lived in Vermont for many years before moving to Newington 23 years ago. He recently retired from The Hartford after 28 years of employment and was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and the NY Giants. He leaves his beloved sister and her husband, Barbara and Raymond Marcotullio of West End, NC; two nieces and a nephew, Katie Irish and her children Samantha and Adam from Buena Park, CA, Michael Irish of Jericho, VT, Liz Irish and her fiancé Brett Renton, and her daughter Marisa of Orlando, FL. He also leaves the love of his life, his Shih Tzu Wally; and many dear friends, including Sharon and Bill Tarchini of Newington, Dawn and Bob Shea of Cromwell, and Dave Hurlburt of Enfield.
