Barry Birkhead of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, October 29, 2016 in Little Rock, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family. Barry was born June 24, 1944, in Russellville, Arkansas to Jack Birkhead and Nadine {Sills} Birkhead. Barry was 72 years old.
On December 18, 1966, Barry married the love of his life, Beverly Brown. Together they built a life in Waldron, Arkansas where they raised one amazing daughter and then enjoyed being grandparents to the light of their life, Jacob. Barry was retired from National Auto Diesel College. He was infamous for telling jokes and old stories. He loved being a substitute teacher in the Waldron School District. He enjoyed spending his days with the student’s and faculty at Waldron Middle School. His favorite thing besides spending time with his family, was following Jacob’s music career and watching Jacob flourish as a talented musician and watching him grow into the wonderful man he is today.
Barry leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of almost 50 years, Beverly of the home, one daughter, Kelli Evans and husband Ric of Waldron, Arkansas. Bear will forever remain in the hearts of his grandchildren, Jacob Campbell of Fayetteville, Arkansas, adopted grandson, Eric Vongphakdy of Fayetteville, Arkansas, step-grandchildren: Beau Evans and wife Jade of San Diego, California, Brooke Evans of Greenwood, Arkansas, mother-in-law Dean Brown of Waldron, Arkansas, and one sister, Sandra McLeon of Lindale, Texas.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Nadine Birkhead and one brother Stanley Birkhead.
Barry’s memorial life celebration will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Waldron, Arkansas with Dr.
