Barbara Williamson Maycock, 75

Wynantskill Barbara Williamson Maycock, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease fell asleep on Monday November 19, 2001 at home surrounded by her daughter Karen and husband Ted. Barbara Williamson Maycock, 75, of 14 Gardner Road in Wynantskill and formerly of Watervliet entered into rest after a long illness with Alzheimer’s disease. Born October 2,1926, she was the daughter of the late Laura and Hugh Williamson and devoted wife for 54 years of Thomas (Ted) E. Maycock Jr. formerly of Cohoes.

Barbara was educated and graduated from Watervliet High School in 1944 and married in 1947. She worked for National Bank of Watervliet and Tek-Hughes in Watervliet and the United States Post Office during the Christmas rush. After giving birth to two beautiful daughters, she was a homemaker.

She was a member of the North Greenbush Seniors, the Christian Endeavor, a Brownie Leader and a volunteer for many years at Samaritan Hospital. She is a member of the First Reformed Church in Wynantskill but attends St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church.

She has two daughters Karen Ann Maycock of Wynantskill and Bonnie Carson of Troy; three sisters Beatrice Gray of Defreestville, Shirley Wilson of Ballston Lake and Ruth Larkin of Lincolnshire, IL; two grandchildren; a great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one cherished granddaughter.
