Barbara S. Hallett passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community. She was 91 years old.
She was born October 21, 1930, in Lafayette to the late Edmund and Helen (Hall) Stafford.
Barbara was raised on the family farm in Odell and graduated from Jackson Township High School. She received her Registered Nursing degree in 1951 from Lafayette Home Hospital School of Nursing. In 1974 she continued her education in New Jersey and received her Nurse Practioner’s license.
On December 23, 1951, she married Donald M. Hallett in Odell. Together they moved to Bryan, OH where they started their family. Barbara worked at the local hospital. They relocated to Portage, MI in 1966 where she worked for Planned Parenthood and later as a Nurse Practioner at Portage Medical Clinic.
After retirement, they moved to Lafayette to be close to their grandchildren. Donald preceded Barbara in death on May 25, 2019.
She was a member of American Legion Post #11 Auxillary and enjoyed her family, crafts, sewing, cooking and gardening.
Surviving is her son Marc L. (Alice) Hallett of Lafayette, grandchildren Erin E. Hallett of Lafayette and Charles A. (Erin) Hallett of St. Augustine, Florida and a great grandson Caden A. Hallett.
Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter, Marta L. Hallett and siblings Mary Ellen Ade, Margaret Hushaw and Charles Stafford.
