Obituary of Barbara Ruth Keith
KEITH, Barbara Ruth (Gunther) of Lake Havasu City, AZ, formerly of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff, CA with her daughter at her side. She was 75 years old. She is once again reunited with the “true love of her life and best friend” Rob. Barbara Ruth Gunther was born in Saginaw on September 21, 1938 to the late Harold and Loretta (Metevia) Gunther.
She attended Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic School, graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1957 and enjoyed working as a nurse’s aide at Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital.She married James Jensen in 1960 and settled in San Jose, CA where she raised her three beautiful children. James predeceased her on April 9, 1975. She later married Robert Glenn Keith in Las Vegas, NV on December 28, 1984. They lived in Cupertino, CA until moving into the dream home they built together in Lake Havasu City, AZ in 1989. Robert predeceased her on July 17, 2009. After achieving a significant weight loss goal, Barb joined the Weight Watchers team as a counselor. She enjoyed sharing what she had learned and spent years inspiring others in their journey to better health. Barb enjoyed keeping in touch with friends and family through email. The love and laughter she “forwarded” with her letters and jokes will not be forgotten.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cheryl Wright (Pete Meza) of Red Bluff, CA; two sons: Kenny (Judy) Jensen of Largo, FL and Mark Jensen of San Jose, CA; her grandson, Jacob “Jake” Wright of Red Bluff, CA; one step-son, Randall (Tera) Keith of Santa Maria, CA; one brother, James (Kathleen) Gunther of Freeland, MI; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and her dear four legged friend, Molly. Barb also leaves behind many friends made while living in Lake Havasu City, especially those who were part of the Neighborhood Watch group that she and Rob ran for 15 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, James; second husband, Robert; and younger brother, Dale Gunther.
In accordance with Barb’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
