Barbara R. Hink (Hink – Henry) passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on November 11, 2015. Barbara was a beloved wife, wonderful mother, attentive grandmother and sweet companion. Barbara was also a direct, no-nonsense kind of friend who would always give you her honest opinion and her best advice. She is survived by her two sons; Dan and John, and daughter Marianne. Her grandchildren are Christopher, Ryan, Katelin, Emily and Caroline. Barbara was a graduate of the University of Washington and a loyal member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Barbara, and her husband Dr. Heinz Hink, were early Scottsdale residents, moving here from Seattle, Washington in 1958. She was an outstanding teacher in the Scottsdale School District for many years, teaching first through third grades at Paiute and Kiva Elementary schools. During her 20 years of starting the youngest students on their educational journeys she earned her Master’s Degree in Education from ASU and was instrumental in developing innovative Early Childhood teaching techniques.
