Barbara Nelson Lunt, 87, passed away October 22, 2022, with family by her side. Barbara was born July 11, 1935, to Nils Hilding Nelson and Wilma Olney Nelson at home in Ririe, Idaho.
Barbara was the second child of five. Barbara’s early education was at Ririe Elementary, and she graduated from Ririe High School. After graduation, she obtained a job at Albertsons in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She met and married Robert Caudill in 1957. They had three children, Ron, Mark and Tangi. They divorced in 1972.
Barbara met Olas Lunt in 1982 and married the love of her life. They spent their married life together in Council, Idaho, until 1997, when Olas passed. She then moved to Boise, where she lived next door to her brother Max Nelson for 25 years.
Barbara is survived by her children, Ron (Tamra) Caudill and Mark (Suzette) Caudill, both of Ririe, Idaho, Tangi (Brandon) Winters of Boise, Idaho, Lynne Mary Schnupp (Tim) Duffner of McCall, Idaho, Susanne (Pete) Peterson of Alpine, Utah, Olas (Sharon) Lunt II of Gilbert, Arizona, and John Lunt of Boise, Idaho; sister-in-law Dorothy Nelson of Westland, Michigan; siblings, Max (Nettie) Nelson of Boise, Idaho, Mary Ann (Leon) Wyatt of Meridian, Idaho, and Deon (Clay) McKee of Chubbuck, Idaho. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and 43 great-great grandchildren, with one more arriving in January.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, husband Olas, brother Herbert, brother-in-law Steve Egan, daughter-in-law Bethene Caudill, one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
