WILCOX, Barbara M. passed away Friday evening, December 2, 2011, at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born on August 17, 1934 in Rotterdam, Netherlands, the daughter of Johannis and Jannetje VanEyk Kryger.
Growing up in Rotterdam, Barb and her family left The Netherlands and moved to Kalamazoo in 1957. Barb was employed by Bronson Hospital for many years until her retirement in 1979. On July 7, 1970, Barb was united in marriage to Carleton Duane “Willie” Wilcox, who preceded her in death on January 12, 2006. Also preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, JoAnne Goedhart; grandson, Chad VanWalbeck; son-in-law, David Woolsey; brother, John Kryger; and former husband, Adrian Goedhart.
Surviving are two daughters, Audrey Mark VanWalbeck of Vicksburg and Cara Woolsey of Portage; three grandchildren, Brandon VanWalbeck, Devin Woolsey, and Zackery Woolsey; two sisters-in-law, Francine Kryger of Kalamazoo and Lela Myers of Scotts; niece, Barb Kryger; nephew, Arnold Debbie Kryger; two step-children, Jody Keith Hooper and Jeff Jackie Wilcox; and many step-grandchildren.
