Barbara Lee Redford

WEST HAVEN – On February 15, 2014, surrounded lovingly by her family, Barbara passed away after a long and difficult fight with continuing health problems.

She was born on December 30, 1955 to Betty Jean Sizer and Walter Reese “Bud” Hassell in Spokane, WA. She graduated from Bonneville High School in 1973. On May 17, 1975 she met the love of her life, Lloyd Redford and they were later married in the Ogden, UT temple on August 14, 1975.

Barbara was a strong, persevering woman hidden by gentle hands and a kind heart. She was a loving, tender mother who wanted nothing more than to love her children and be forever friends with them. The world was graced by her amazing and proficient talents in sewing, knitting and crocheting. Countless wonderful and exquisite items were made by her loving hands. She put the utmost devotion and full-hearted love into each project she made. In later years when her health prohibited her from continuing with these delightful hobbies and talents, she found a greater love and joy in spending time with her two precious granddaughters. Nothing brought more joy or happiness than spending time with them, seeing their shining faces and hearing their sweet voices.

Barbara was preceded in death by her two infant children, Rachel Marie and John Lloyd Jr., her father Walter R. “Bud” Hassell, and her father-in-law, G. Bruce Redford. She is survived by her husband, John Lloyd Sr.; her children Nicholas (Annjanae) Redford & Vanessa (Seth) Montoya; her granddaughters Jaelynn Elizabeth Montoya & Amber Marie Redford; her mother, Betty Jean Hassell; mother-in-law, Margaret L. Redford Halling; sister, Terri Radmall; and many other extended family members.
