Barbara Sternberg, of Centralia, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.Barbara was born September 16, 1930 in Centralia, daughter of Sara Louise (Keith) Walker. She married James Dean Kleysteuber on August 1, 1951 and he preceded her in death on March 27, 1978. She later married Robert M. Sternberg on July 10, 1989 in Paducah, Kentucky and he preceded him in death on November 13, 2010.
She is survived by a son, Michael Kleysteuber and wife Jan of Athens, Alabama; a daughter, Sara Hock and husband Rick of Delafield, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Thomas of Breese; several Cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, her two husbands, a daughter, Debra Pettygrove and a brother-in-law, Herschel Thomas.Barbara was of the Catholic Faith. She enjoyed reading and needle pointing. She also was an avid bowler up to the age of 81. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
