The daughter of Archie and Catherine Wellman, Barbara Kathleen Dice born on November 23, 1951, our heart and soul of the family has passed into the gates of heaven after fighting ALS.
Our mother fought this battle with courage, and strength and still only thinking and showing of how to help her family through it, holding onto God, and the lord above granting us special times with her, pulling together as we did in our family, grieving together, figuring it together and loving deeper.
I know Spending moments with the ones she loved meant a great deal to her, deeper conversations that we will hold close. Cherishing every second with her. During this fight she endured, she never showed anything but grace and humility.
Sweet wife, dearest mother, and grandmother you will be missed so much, thought about and wished for you to be here every day.
I don’t know how we all go on with that much love without you. The only answer is we carry you very close to our souls, holding onto the precious extra time the lord gave us.
I want this obituary to be about you. The wife, mother, and grandmother you are. You were our open road to any communication and advice we needed, you were our guide, our shoulder to cry on, with more laughs growing up in our house and through adulthood that was so wonderful. The laughs, playfulness, and quick wit between you and the love of your life Barry showed us, kids, how love truly is, always keep the laughter. The laughter keeps you moving in a closeness through the rough patches, and always standing by each other’s side. You were our heart and best friend.
You accomplished so much in life. From marrying your love Barry to being a young mother, working hard on jobs as we got a little older, we kids can all agree we loved going with you to work at the drive-in, to then becoming the owner of your own home healthcare company, so proud of you mom. you helped so many people in your life and worked so many long hrs to keep your business going for 26 years. You and dad made a great team and your family learned from that, Perseverance no matter what, striving for more, working hard, and family are everything.
There is no one, who knew you that would mention your name without adding the word, kind. Your generosity and kindness will be remembered by so many people.
Life will never be the same without you here, our hearts will feel you always and always wish to have just one more hour with you.
Thank you for the value you put in your family, for being the light when we felt lost, and thank you for always making us feel like we were always home.
Barbara Kathleen Dice graduated from meridian high school. Barb was active in many organizations through the years, always gave with all the heart she had for people, and owned Dedicated In Care Enterprise for 26 years serving many in need of good quality home healthcare.
Barbara loved to paint, work in her yard and home, spend time with her family, and loved giving more than ever receiving.
Barbara leaves behind her husband Barry whose eyes danced every time she saw him, the love she always told me she knew she would marry the first time she saw him at 14 years old, and the smile for him when she thought no one noticed. Mom also leaves behind,
Children, Tracy and husband Eric Freeman, Barry and wife Dawn Dice, and Jodi Dice and partner in life Greg Miner.
Grandchildren- Andrew, Ryan, Nicole, Arianna, Kalon, Alyssa, Kyle, Dakota, Samantha, and Larissa.
Great grandchildren – Dallas, Kyslie, Sophie, Kota, Talon, and Grayson.
Brothers and sister in laws, Steven and Bonnie Wellman of Sanford and Randy and Sueanne Wellman of Conroe, Texas, and, dear friends Nancy cross, Julia guy and Dorothy Dillion.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Archie and Catherine Wellman, grandparents Eunice and Hartley Thrush, grandparents Archie Sr and Katherine Wellman, many aunts, uncles, and family members, also extended family on her loving husband Barry’s side, she was loved as her own.
There is so much we could all say about you, and it still would not be enough to measure up to the truly wonderful, loving, most amazing strong woman we have all known, grown, and learned from, always remembering “our mom’s faith guided us to our own “
What I want us to all take from this besides our love for you is to all remember family is important, time spent is important, and never take a day for granted with one another.
