Barbara Joy Jones
August 20, 1938 – May 24, 2019
Barbara Joy Jones, 80, of Nampa, Idaho passed away on May 24, 2019.
Barbara was born on August 20,1938 in Cleveland, Ohio to Wilbur and Elizabeth Byrne. She was the youngest of four children. Barbara joined the Air Force at the age of 18 and that is where she met the love of her life, Robert Jones, in the summer of 1958. They had a whirlwind romance and were married three months later. Within the next 10 years their family expanded as they had four children. They enjoyed camping, motorcycle riding and being outdoors on any available weekends they had. Barbara especially loved the long motorcycle rides where she saw so much beautiful scenery. In 1990, they moved to Meadview, Arizona to attempt retirement, but sadly Bob was taken from her shortly after in 1992. Over the next decade she threw herself into her hobbies, all types of crafting, that lady could wield a pair of knitting needles. She was involved with community crafting events and of course, her favorite of all, playing Bingo, where she made life long friendships. And where she met her “Best Bud” and gained a sister, Donna Hart. As they became “partners in Mickey Mouse mischief”, they decided to leave the desert. Barbara and Donna headed north to Idaho in 2004 to be closer to Barbara’s son, Michael. As the years went by all of her immediate family shortly followed.
Barbara is survived by two of her children, Cheryl Jones and Michael Jones. Her five grandchildren, Caren O’Brien-Lawton, Samantha O’Brien, Lauren Wiygul, Cheyenne O’Brien and Robert Jones.
Barbara was proceeded in death by her parents Wilbur and Elizabeth Byrne. Her brother Wilbur (Bill) Byrne Jr and sister Betty Jakse. Her loving husband Robert Jones. Her youngest son Glenn Jones and youngest daughter Karen Jones.
