Mrs. Mood was born on October 11, 1944, to the late David and Hazel Ashford of Grenada, MS. She got her credential to teach music from Mississippi State College for Women in 1964 and later, her credential to teach elementary math and science from the University of Mississippi. She was a teacher for 25 years with both Oxford and Lafayette County School Districts. Mrs. Mood enjoyed music very much, and sang for many years faithfully in the choirs of both North Oxford Baptist Church and Anchor Baptist Church. She loved to read, but when she didn’t have a novel in hand, she was often found in the kitchen, cooking up a storm for her family. She enjoyed traveling in her retirement, and explored the coasts and Canada with her husband.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Terry Mood; her two sons, Chad Mood of Oxford, MS and Kelly Mood (Kari) of Maumelle, AR; her daughter, Jeannie (Allan) Campbell of La Grande, OR; three grandchildren, Madelyn Paige Campbell, Kaleigh Marie and Brandon David Mood; and her sister Linda (Ed) Hill of Grenada, MS..
