Barbara J. Hyde, age 85, of Newbury, NH, formerly of Stratford, CT, entered peaceful rest on December 23, 2021. Barbara was born on January 10, 1936 and is the daughter of the late William J. and Alice Kosa of Stratford, CT. Barbara graduated from Stratford High School in 1954 and played clarinet in the high school marching band under the leadership of conductor Dominic Mariconda, earning 1st chair with the state marching band. After high school, Barbara attended Boston University and played with various orchestras and ensembles including, the Boston University Symphonic Band, graduating with a master’s degree in music. Along with her passion in music, Barbara worked in the security field for various companies until her retirement from GTE in Norwalk, CT. She is survived by her devoted son, George E. Hyde, IV of Norwalk, CT, her granddaughter Josephine Hyde of Bridgeport, CT, and grandson Daniel Himes-Hyde of Naugatuck, CT, a stepbrother William Kosa of Fitchburg, MA and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
