Barbara Jean Fitzsimmons, 61 years, of South Jacksonville, IL and formerly of Lincoln, NE died Saturday afternoon, August 12, 2006 at her residence.
She was born July 19, 1945 in Lincoln, NE; the daughter of Ernest and Mabel Fellows Ebeler. She married Richard Fitzsimmons on November 10, 1979 in Lincoln, NE and he survives.
She is also survived by a daughter, Candy Dyer Jackson (husband, Mark of Waverly, IL; a son, Scott Dyer of Jacksonville, IL; a step son, Mark Fitzsimmons (wife, Amy) of Lincoln, NE; two step daughters, Jill Fitzsimmons Kammerer (husband, Cory) and Jackie Fitzsimmons Glines (husband, Jake), all of Lincoln, NE; eleven grandsons, Dustin Culver, Brandon and Garrett Dickey, Jayme, Zach, Nic, and Max Fitzsimmons, Cade and Chase Kammerer, and Jacob and Trey Glines; two sisters, Delores Schneider (husband, Bill) of Columbus, NE and Phyllis Fischer (husband, Lee) of Lincoln, NE; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Erma Sweat and Eunice Gillam.
Mrs. Fitzsimmons was raised in Elmwood, NE and was a 1963 graduate of Elmwood High School. She later attended Ben’s School of Beauty in Lincoln, NE and practiced as a hairdresser for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends especially Bonnie and Clyde. She also enjoyed watching birds and squirrels from her kitchen table window.
