WINSTED -BARNES – Barbara Jean Barnes, passed away on March 28, 2016 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of William Dudley since 2005 and they have been best friends for almost 30 years. Born May 13, 1959 in Hartford; the daughter of the late Ernest Barnes, Sr., and Anna (Grabiec) Barnes. Barbara loved nature and the outdoors enjoying picnics and spending time with her family. As her family and friends were what she truely lived for. She also loved vacations in the fall to Vermont. In addition to her husband, William, she leaves a step-daughter, Jamie Burt and husband Mitch of WI; brother, Ernest Barnes Jr., of Harwinton; sister, Elizabeth Burkhart of Torrington and husband Glenn of Florida; niece Jessica Burkhart of Torrington to whom Barbara was like a second mother to; a granddaughter Remi Burt; great nephews, Natalio Francisco and Javani Burkhart- Kelly; mother-in-law, Cecile Dudley of Winsted; and three sister-in-laws, Nancy Ciesco and husband Michael of Wolcott, Susan Green and husband Robb of Winsted and Diane Duhaime of Wethersfield. She also leaves her beloved cat, Tigger.
