Barbara J. Smith Hastings, 82, Anderson, passed away June 14, 2012 at Countryside Manor, Anderson after an extended illness.
She was born July 15, 1929 in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in Anderson all of her life. Barbara was a graduate of Anderson High School. She had been a waitress at The Edginn and The Alibi for many years. Barbara was a member of Elm Grove Christian Church. She is survived by her son, Randy Carr Lee Ann of Anderson; brother, Marvin Smith Martha of Anderson; sister, Majorie Lay of Anderson; three grandchildren, Joseph Carr, Michael Carr Alisha, and Celia Smith Josh; four great grandchildren and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Esther Thompson Smith; husband, James P. Hastings in July of 1984; and son, Rodney Carr.
