Barbara Eileen Sabo, age 61, of West Haven passed away suddenly on January 4, 2012. Born in Jamaica, NY, daughter of Jane Lafferty Sabo of FL and the late Stephen J. Sabo. She is survived by her brother Stephen Sabo and his wife Carol of GA, her sisters Beth Sabo of West Haven, with whom she lived, Michele Chartier of Bethany, her nephew Christopher Sabo and his wife Megan of GA, her great nephews Noah and Brodie, and her great niece Hayden. Early in her career Barbara taught Physical Education and coached Girls’Swimming at West Haven High School. Following her heart she spent the rest of her life in neonatal nursing at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital as a clinical expert in the care of sick infants and their families. Barbara was also a founder of the Neonatal Life Support Program-ECMO and was part of the Pediatric Ethics Committee acting as the caring voice of her patients and families.
