Chatham, Barbara Dalton Shelton, age 74, of 520 Samuel Harris LN Chatham, VA died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 after a three month battle with cancer. She was born on March 17, 1938, in Pittsylvania County, VA the daughter of the late Ruben Dalton and the late Betty Neal Dalton. She was a member of Samuel Harris Memorial Baptist Church. Barbara is survived by her husband Oscar T. Shelton of the residence She is also survived by one son, Lee Shelton of Providence, NC; three grandchildren, Kisha Shelton of Chatham, Chelsey Daniels and Ivy Shelton of both of Providence, NC; two great grandchildren, Riley Clements and Cole Clements; one brother, Ed Dalton of Blairs; four sisters, Dorothy Newman, Shirley Jean Carter, Anna Cook, and Rachel Dowdy all of Danville. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by one brother and two sisters, B. D.
