Barbara Beemer, 94, of Spirit Lake passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022, at Keelson Harbour Assisted Living in Spirit Lake. Barbara was born April 17, 1927, to Elmer and Lydia (Mullins) Victor in Villisca, Iowa. She graduated from Villisca High School and earned her Teaching Degree from the University of Northern Iowa. She was united in marriage to Robert Beemer in Nevada, Iowa and made their home in Lakota. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2022, in Spirit Lake. Barb taught school for many years. In 1979, they moved to Spirit Lake. Barb owned and operated B IJU Beach Boutique at the Central Emporium. She also was an accomplished seamstress making custom swim suites for customers at her shop. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and exercising at Curves. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Left to cherish her memory are her children Monica Beemer of Spirit Lake; Rebecca (Bob) Christenson of Georgetown, CA; Pat Beemer of Spirit Lake; Michelle (Arthur) Isaacson of Dells, OR; grandchildren Gram & Elliot Thronbrogger, Trent & Alex Christensen, and Guy & Lee Beemer; and his brother Bill (Pearl) Beemer of Webster City, IA.
