Barbara Ann Scott Turpen, 79, Anderson, passed away May 2, 2011 at St. Johns Health System in Anderson.
She was born February 5, 1932 in Bedford, Indiana, lived in Michigan for 30 years, then moved to Anderson for the last 22 years. She was a homemaker, member of Countryside Presbyterian Church in Saginaw, Michigan and the Good Sam’s Camping Club in Lebanon, Indiana.
Survivors include her husband, whom she married December 16, 1949, Roy D. Turpen; daughter, Deborah Whittier John of Chesaning, MI; son, Michael Dale Turpen Brenda of Solsberry, IN and late daughter, Denise Bentley; sisters, Gloria Elliott Don of Bedford; brothers, William Scott Carol of Bedford and Donnie Scott Connie of Oolitic; nine grandchildren, Jill Trent VanDrasek of Chesaning, MI, Scott Andrea Hollerback of Chesaning, MI, Jason Jill Hollerback of Cape Coral, FL, Lindsey Chris Bassett of Seaside, CA, Ryan Turpen of Bloomington, Amy Jim Deckard of Bedford, John Whittier of Yipsilanti, MI and Bobbie Brett Stasa of Mt. Pleasant, SC; several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William & Marie Berkley Scott; and a sister, Betty Staggs.
