Barbara Ann Ramsay, 82, of Vincennes, passed away Monday October 22, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Hospital.

Barbara was born on April 18, 1936 in Vincennes, the daughter of Raymond Bryan and Lela Childers Robinson.

Barbara moved to California with her parents in her teens. She graduated from a Christian high school and initially began work in the mission field before settling into the role of wife and mother to her four children. She loved music and spent much of her early adult years singing and traveling with a choral group. She spent a few years teaching contemporary dance. She loved sing along around the piano surrounded by her family.

Later her heart for service turned to the elderly and she became a home health care worker. In her fifties she earned an associate degree in psychology from Vincennes University and went on to pursue a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on geriatrics from IUPUI. As she got older you could find her at home with her cats. An avid reader, she enjoyed the novels of Dean Koontz and John Grisham.

As Alzheimer’s disease began it’s work she grew more carefree and could often be found singing and dancing in the halls of Willow Manor. Ever the caregiver, she loved and cared for her fellow residents. Her collection of frogs will always remind us of her deep and abiding faith. Through all life’s struggles and to the last, her greatest joy was to sing praise to Almighty God and remind others to Fully Rely On God (FROG).

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Deborah Ashcroft of Colorado Springs, CO, Shawna Taylor of Bridgeport, WV and Margaret Ramsay of Vincennes, IN. She was blessed by 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son Brian Ramsay in 2010, a great grandchild, her parents, a brother, Eugene Robinson and 2 sisters, Betty Rinehart and Linda Booth.
