Barbara Wagner, age 87, of Salem, died at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the Bel Air Care Center in Alliance. She was born December 20, 1924 in Lakewood, Ohio, the daughter of the late Alton and Marie (Stoffer) Bye. Barbara was a member of the Damascus Methodist Church and the Damascus Methodist Women’s Club. She was a 1942 graduate of Goshen High School and a member of the Damascus Historical Society and Sevakeen Country Club. Her husband, Ross Wagner, whom she married April 9, 1948 at the Damascus Methodist Church, preceded her in death on January 14, 1998. Survivors include a daughter Kimberly (David) Paterson of Concord OH; sons, Kevin (Darlene) Wagner of Marietta OH, and Garth (Lisa) Wagner of Painesville OH; grandchildren, Cheryl Paterson, Patrick (Cherie) Paterson, Paul (Rita) Paterson, Christopher (Carrie) Wagner, Ryan Wagner, Sean Wagner, Wesley Wagner, Tiffany (Todd) Fouty, Chad (Heather) Bruce; great grandchildren, Ashley, Lauren, Elias, and Georgia Paterson, Mason Wagner, Conner Boley, Bailey and twins – Carter and Emma Fouty; Aura, Chaden and Alivia Bruce. Mary Lou (Joe) Pusateri, Barbara’s Guardian Angel, she has been so good to Barbara and done so much for her. Without Mary Lou, Barbara would not have been independent as long as she was. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bel Air Care Center nurses, aides and staff for the wonderful and compassionate care our mom received there.
