Barbara Ann Amoia, devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 25, 2013. Barbara was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 22, 1940 to Raymond and Helen Zegarski. She married Pat Durantee and has one beloved son, David.

Barbara, later moved to Burlington, Vermont where she lived on Lake Bomoseen and enjoyed the crisp mountain air and the cool breezes of the Taconic Mountains. Barbara moved to Belton, Texas to be near her niece, Diane and spent her last 17 years living a nice Texas lifestyle. Barbara met William (Bill) Shuman through the Singles Group and fell in love. She spent the last thirteen years with her soul mate, Bill.

Barbara lived life to its fullest and was loved by all the people she touched. She especially loved mountain views, her Singles Group in Belton, The Catholic Church, and her Polish Ancestry. She loved shopping and decorating her many homes. Barbara’s most cherished times were those spent with her loving family. She loved seeing her son David when he visited and her niece, Diane and her husband George and their three daughters, and their children (Barbara, was a great-great aunt to many).

She also enjoyed time with Bill’s children, Jeannie and Bonnie and Bill’s grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Helen Zegarski, and her sister Frances Helen and husband Raymond Pierendozi. She is survived by those who loved her including her soul mate, William Shuman, her son, David Durante, and his daughter, Jessica, her niece Diana Lee and spouse George Balady, and her great nieces, Michelle Coats, Leona and spouse Nicholas Martin and their children, Jennifer and spouse William Swallen and their children.
