Babbette Walton, 64, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in Providence, RI. She was born in Providence, RI on July 19, 1952. She was the daughter of the late Marie Elizabeth (Jones) Walton and the late Hollie Roy Walton, Sr.
Babbette is survived by her son Robert Walton and her daughter Laguana Britten. She had 9 grandchildren, Rashanna, Shanelle, and Tyrin, 6 of her grandchildren previously lived with her, Shalanda, Sharain, China, Asia, James, and Robert; she also had great grandchildren. Babbette is also survived by siblings Carey Ann McCarthy, Marie Waye, Hollie Roy Walton, Jr., Willie Walton, and Thomas Walton. She also leaves cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her infant son Lloyd, her parents, and her younger sister Brenda.
She attended Central High School and worked at Tony’s Market on Broad Street for many years. She had a great sense of humor and loved to listen to music. She attended church regularly and encouraged her grandchildren to do the same, she loved her family and friends unconditionally.
Babbette’s family is grateful to the staff at the Elmhurst Extended Care, 50 Maude Street, Providence, Rhode Island. The staff were attentive, caring and kind; they provided care to Babbette for more than a year and her family truly appreciates their dedication.
