Avanelle Marie Houser, 97, of Williamsport passed away Monday, February 10, 2020 surrounded by her family at home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert L. Houser on March 20, 2005.
Born June 21, 1922 in Clearfield, she was a daughter of the late Arnold and Elizabeth (Rummings) Levin.
She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, Garden View Baptist Church and was a charter and current member of Hillview Baptist Church. Avanelle was very active at church teaching Sunday school and ladies studies, in addition to serving as the financial advisor over her years as a member.
Surviving are her children, Christine Lovell (Ollie), Valerie Houser, and Charles A. Houser (Sandra), all of Williamsport; two grandchildren, Grant Lovell and Beth Johnson; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Levin, of Arizona; and sisters, Dorothy Wolfe, of Jersey Shore and Sue Jones, of Tennessee.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Donald Levin, Gordon Levin, Gary Levin, Lois Bremigen, William Levin, and Velma Hilborn.
