Ava Brooke Scheckel, age 4 weeks and 1 day, of Lafayette passed away Friday, October 14, 2011 at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. Ava was born in Lafayette, Indiana September 15, 2011, and was the beloved daughter of Stephen and Stephanie (Yoder) Scheckel.
Ava had a wonderful head of hair, a beautiful smile and bright eyes. She was blessed with long fingers and toes and was affectionately called “munchkin”.
Ava was able to brighten everyone in the room. She was too young to leave us, but will always be loved and remembered.
Ava is survived by her loving family, Parents, Stephen and Stephanie Scheckel of Lafayette, IN; Maternal Grandparents, Steve and Lila Yoder; Paternal Grandparents, Susan and David Lingo and Stephen and Bridget Scheckel; Maternal Great-Grandmother, Ethel Yoder; Paternal Great-Grandparents, Frank Scheckel, Shirley Lingo, Pearl Janiga and Richard and Carol Gullett; Aunts and Uncles, Todd Yoder, Christopher Scheckel, Brandon and Becca Scheckel, Marissa and Tim Cope, and Derek Davis and numerous cousins and her Godparents, Peter and Jeanette Manning.
