Austin Allen Diggles, age 16, of Port Edwards, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at his home.

Austin was born April 11, 2006 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to Christopher and Natalie (Schmick) Diggles. He was a Junior at John Edwards High School in Port Edwards. Austin was an exceptional athlete and participated in basketball, baseball and football; he always played with 110% giving it his all. With his positive attitude and passion for sports he was given the name (Hype-man) by his teammates. His favorite sayings were “it’s bulking season” and “every day is leg day.”

Austin was a very hardworking, outgoing person and was known for his contagious smile. He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church and enjoyed singing for the church on Sundays with his mom. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with his dad bass fishing and deer hunting in Jackson County. He recently took an unforgettable Mule deer hunting trip to Wyoming with his dad and grandpa where they all filled their tags. His favorite day of the year was opening day of hunting season. Austin loved playing basketball with his brother and wrestling him for fun, and was always goofing around with his little sisters.

He loved to spend time with his friends, especially when they would spend the night playing NBA 2K on his PlayStation. He also made many unforgettable memories with “the guys” from church. He always had a blast with them, not because of what they were doing, but because of who he was with. He especially liked going with them to his favorite restaurants, El Mezcal and Culver’s.

Austin is survived by his parents, Chris and Natalie Diggles, siblings: Brayden, Hailey and Audrey; grandparents: Bruce (Ruth) Diggles, Neil (Terry) Lindholm and Dave (Karen) Schmick; aunts and uncles: Miranda (Mike) Brennan, Mandy (Jon) Mykisen, Dawn (Ross) Substad, Scott (Michelle) Schmick, Jessica (John) Hanson, Jeff (Vanessa) Lindholm and Jason (April) Lindholm; and great-grandma Marlyce Schmick. He is further survived by many cousins and extended family and his dogs: Thunder, Finn and Josie.

Austin’s family would like to express a special thank you to all his friends, other family friends, and family for their love, prayers and ongoing support and to Faith Baptist Church, Christian Life Fellowship Church, and the community at this most difficult time.
