AURORA CHAIRES UZUETA passed away on Monday July 11, 2011.

Aurora was born February 3, 1935 to Mary Parra and Joe Chaires. On March 30, 1955 she married Guillermo (Willie) Uzueta and to this union was born one daughter, Mary Louise Milo who passed away on February 27, 2002.

Aurora is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mary Chaires; brothers, Joe and George Chaires. She leaves behind her husband, Willie, grandson, Raymond Milo and his wife Ramona; her great grandchildren, Lauren and Raymond Jr.; sisters, Mary Damon of Huntsville, Alabama, Frances Dominguez and her husband Margarito (Maggie) of Deming; brothers, Michael (Moppy) Chaires of Las Cruces, NM, Johnny and his wife Corina of Anthony, NM, Antonio (Tony) and his wife Linda of Austin, Texas.

Aurora graduated from DHS in 1953 and then attended night classes. She was employed at B & P Grocery as a cashier, DMV, in Deming, Farmers Grocery Store as a secretary, Triple S Inc. and Select Western Lands as a secretary, receptionist, and accounting clerk for 23 years. Then at NMSU, as a secretary, she went from a Secretary I, to II and III, then to an accounting clerk five, Administrative and Executive Secretary. She then returned back to Deming and was employed for 11 years at the Deming Police Department and also at the Deming Public Schools as a substitute. Aurora was a member of Saint Ann’s Catholic Church, the DAV, and the Republican Party.
