Aurelio Santiago Sr., 81, of Syracuse, died Saturday, Feb. 2, at Elkhart Hospice House.

He was born Feb. 24, 1931, in Cayey, Puerto Rico, to the late Augustin and Eusevia (Diaz) Santiago.

A daughter, Eda Taylor, and a son-in-law, Robert L. Kramer, also preceded him in death.

On Feb. 2, 1958, he married Benita Negron in Chicago.

Survivors include his wife; children Esther Kramer of Lake Wawasee, Neraida (Pastor Terry) Cochran of Elkhart, Angelo (Michele) and Gabriel (Gretchen), both of Goshen, and Aurelio Jr. (Lindy) Santiago of Middlebury; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers and three sisters in Puerto Rico.

Aurelio worked at A.J. Miller & Sons and at ESI Meats in Bristol. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.
