Augustyn “John” Skurski, 67, of New Britain, died on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at home. He was born in Poland to the late Janina (Hiero) and Feliks Skurski and immigrated to the U.S. in 1984 for better opportunities. He was a successful construction company owner and helped many in the Polish community by giving them employment. He was very hardworking, committed and loved what he did. In his leisure time, John enjoyed boating, fishing and working around the house. He always kept busy with doing something. John was a simple, humble, kind and caring person with a wonderful sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends here in the U.S. and in Poland. John is survived by Marianna (Mikiewicz), his loving wife of 34 years; his children: Darek Skurski and wife Gosia, Wojtek Skurski and wife Ilona, Katarzyna Skurska and Barbara Skurska; his grandchildren: Dominik, Simon, Daniel, Gabrielle and Taylor; his step-children: Jacek Stachurski, Ewa Wirkowski, Marcin Stachurski and their families as well as his sisters, Halina Mieczkowska and Dorota Klepacka. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sons, Janusz and Tomek Skurski.
