Augustine H. Sebastionelli, 81, of Bethlehem, died Sunday, September 2, 2007, in St. Luke’s Hospital in Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Katherine A. (Mahl) Sebastionelli for 60 years. Born in Bangor, he was the son of the late Enrico and Mary (Falcone) Sebastionelli. Augie proudly served his country during WWII in the Marines while stationed on the USS Guam and in Okinawa with the Military Police. He was a Firefighter for the City of Bethlehem for many years until retiring in 1978 as the Deputy Fire Commissioner. Later he was a truck driver for Ruggiero Trucking and was a Court Officer for Judge Simpson at the Northampton County Courthouse. He was a member of Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church and it’s Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Goodfellows, Regular Fellows, Sons of Italy, Fountain Hill American Legion, International Assoc.of Firefighters, where he was president, Redevelopment Authority of the City of Bethlehem, Assistant Scout Master for Bethlehem Boy Scouts Troop #24 and he was the founder and 1st President of UNICO-Bethlehem Chapter. Survivors: he will be lovingly remembered by his wife Katherine at home; sons Enrico W. and his wife Lee of Bethlehem, Frank L. of Allentown, Phillip S. of Allentown; daughter Katherine M. Sebastionelli of Bethlehem; sisters Assunta Perrett and her husband Leonard of Bethlehem, Josephine Quarry of Fountain Hill; brother William Prosperi and his wife Marian of Bethlehem; 7 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his twin brother Peter.
