Audrey (Hensley) Paterino Blackburn, 81 living years, went to be with the Lord Friday October 6, 2017 at home amongst family. She was born August 2, 1936 in Damron Town KY, to Fred and Ruby Hensley. She spent her early childhood in the small towns in and around Stone KY, before moving to Michigan at the age of six. She spent her early working years as a waitress having worked for the Huron Hotel, Bill Knapps and the Bomber. In later years after going back to school and receiving her high school diploma in 1983, she held some various office positions and was a health care aid. She loved reading – Biography’s, Historical, Geographical, Fiction and some unsavories, anything she could get her hands on. She also enjoyed researching her ancestry and was always trying to fit in another piece to her diverse family tree. She loved a good cup of morning coffee, a visit from a friend, garage sales and knic-knacccks. She loved a good song, gospel, country and some newer contemporary, if it had a good tempo you could tap your toe to she loved to hum along. She always had a smiling face, a loving hug and an easy going way about her. Her nickname was “Flossy May”, for she had just a wee bit of feistiness that would break through when she wanted something done “her way” . She always had a kind word, and never spoke badly of anyone. She loved to keep in touch and was known to send birthday and anniversary cards to many of her extended family and friends throughout the years. She wanted to let those she couldn’t physically be with know that they were always in her thoughts and prayers. She had seven children, Colleen (Lynn) Adkins, Kim (Brian) Tobin, Marsha (Silas) Meadows, Jennifer Brezny, Ferd Blackburn, Lana (Joel) McCarthy, Tara (Nathan) Horton, seventeen grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. She was proceed in death by her parents, her second husband (Albert Paterino), her brother {Fred (Verneil) Hensley}, her son, her son-in-law, two grandsons and one granddaughter, as well as many extended family and friends.
