Audrey J. Jorgenson, 90, of Littleton, CO, formerly of Lincoln, NE, passed peacefully in her sleep on February 9, 2022. Our hearts ache with her loss but there is much to celebrate and reflect on a life well-lived. Born on October 1, 1931, she grew up during the depression, and then later met the love of her life while she was a switch board operator for the railroad (he stayed on a line to keep her company as she was scared during a power outage on her very first night at the railroad). She raised two pretty cool children, was the best grandma to 3 grandchildren, and a wonderful great-grandma to one precious little girl. Audrey also survived a deadly car accident that would later cause her to become a widow. Then years later she would loose her second child to lung cancer. She also loved reading, especially mystery books. She also loved the color red, and had a special love for dogs and had several throughout her life.

She was preceded in passing by her husband, Donald Walter, son Peter Lee, her parents, Rudy & Ruth Wentink and sister-in-law, Katie Wentink. She is survived by her daughter Sheila Jorgenson Oldenburg (Tom), grandchildren, April (Robert) Killingbeck, Mitchell Oldenburg & Sarah Jorgenson, great-granddaughter Baylee Killingbeck and brother, Gayle Wentink.

She was a kind, caring, generous yet sassy soul and without a doubt was the strongest woman we know and she could kick your butt without raising her voice. Audrey had beyond earned the title of “Matriarch”, and we have been blessed to have her lead our family. We love you G-MA and we are better people because you loved us.
