Audrey Adelia (Jennings) Shelley, 88, Galesburg, Illinois, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at OSF ST. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois. Audrey was born January 2, 1924, in Canton, the daughter of Martin A. and Julia E. Voorhees Jennings.
She married James Robert Shelley on June 18, 1949, in North Henderson.
He preceded her in death on January 11, 1997.
She is survived by two sons; Tim (and Laurie) Shelley of Terre Haute, Indiana, and Terry (and Erin) Shelley of Danville, Indiana; a daughter, Sherry (and Mark) Totten of Galesburg; and 6 grandchildren. Audrey worked as Senior Secretary for the President of GALE Products MFG Division of Outboard Marine Corp for a number of years and then was employed by Galesburg Unemployment Office up until retirement. She was a member of the Henderson TOPS Club and the Knox County Home Extension Club. Audrey will be remembered as a courageous cancer survivor, a beloved wife, and a mother who loved her family with unfailing devotion.
